I’ll be honest: for years, I dreamed about Leica. Not just any Leica, but the Q2. It always felt a bit out of reach—too costly, too much of a “someday” thing. But the dream stuck with me, quietly, every time I picked up a camera that felt more like a brick than a companion.
Big cameras have always kept me away from daily photography. I’d see something beautiful, want to capture it, then realize I’d need to drag along a heavy body and a stack of lenses. It just wasn’t happening. The Q2 changed that for me. It’s small, elegant, and honestly, it just fits. Perfect for everyday life, and surprisingly, perfect for my wedding projects too.
What I love most? It’s discreet. I can slip through a crowd, blend in with guests, and capture moments as they unfold—no need to stage or interrupt. The Leica Q2 is light in my hands, never a burden, which means I actually want to bring it everywhere. And there’s something about that build quality—it’s solid, reliable, and just feels right. People notice it, too. There’s a quiet respect for Leica, and it’s a great way to start a conversation (even for someone like me, who prefers to hide behind the camera).
The 28mm fixed lens was a big change for me. I’ve always gravitated toward 50mm, 75mm, or even 100mm lenses—close-ups, details, those tiny things that couples spend months preparing and might forget in the rush of the day. But with 28mm, suddenly I’m seeing more. I’m able to capture bigger backgrounds, more context, and those wide, storytelling frames. It’s made me faster, too. I can be a bit of a “paparazzi,” slipping unnoticed and catching those real, unposed moments that I love so much.

My goal has always been to deliver the best photos and films I can, but never at the cost of authenticity. I believe a wedding day has space for everything—moments to be visible, and moments to melt into the crowd and let real life happen. The Leica Q2 lets me do both. It helps me find those shots that make couples smile when they look back years from now.
If you’re thinking about a Leica, or just want a camera that feels like an extension of your eye, I can honestly say: this one changed everything for me.
